Golf Tips - Words of Wisdom from our Pros
One of the most common errors I see is improper posture at address. Poor posture at address can often be a physical problem or a fault of the club being too short for the individual . Either way it is sure to hinder a proper pivot and rob the individual of potential power. Think about STANDING TALL for a BIG TURN. Take this simple test . Stand at attention and bend over from the waist to 90 degrees, so that your spine is parallel to the ground and try, just try and turn your shoulders. Difficult, isn't it! Now stand at attention and keep your spine perfectly straight. Now, turn your shoulders as you would in the golf swing. Easy, isn't it. This proves one thing. As humans it is much easier for us to turn or pivot when our shoulders are on a horizontal plane. Of course we have to bend for the hip sockets to hit a ball resting on the ground, but this proves you should stand a tall as possible. So quit robbing yourself of your ability to turn and generate effortless power.
